GTCC Closes Campuses to Public, Online Classes Continue

JAMESTOWN, N.C. – Guilford Technical Community College has made further changes to its operational schedule in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Effective 5 p.m. today, March 27, the college will close all campus buildings to the public until further notice.

“Our faculty and staff are available as they work from home and will continue to serve students remotely,” said GTCC President Dr. Anthony Clarke. “GTCC remains open for business.”

GTCC had reduced the number of buildings open to the public in response to the coronavirus. The full closure of all campus buildings falls in alignment with the stay-at-home order issued earlier this week by Guilford County, the City of Greensboro, and the City of High Point.

The college also informed students this week that courses moved to an online format will remain remote through May 2, the end of spring semester. Work-based learning and clinical off-site classes have been canceled for spring semester.

Face-to-face, campus-based laboratory courses will remain suspended until April 19. All workforce and continuing education classes, including off-site and customized training classes, are suspended until April 19.
